Dr. Andrew J. Palmer BmedSc, MB,BS.
Principal, CORE- Center for Outcomes Research, a unit of IMS

Andrew Palmer is Principal of CORE, Center for Outcomes Research based in Basel, Switzerland.

He studied medicine at the University of Tasmania, and worked in general practice in Sydney, Australia. In 1994 he moved to Switzerland and was appointed Medical Director of the Institute for Medical Informatics and Biostatistics from 1994 until 2000.

Andrew co-founded CORE, Center for Outcomes Research in July 2000. In October 2005, CORE merged with IMS, with Andrew taking up the position of Principal in the newly formed Health Economics and Outcomes Research department of IMS Health.

Andrew has conducted research and published extensively in the area of health economics and the modeling of diseases including diabetes, nephropathy, osteoporosis, alcoholism, growth hormone deficiency, rheumatoid arthritis, cardiovascular disease, end-stage renal failure, and oncology.

Andrew is a reviewer for several major international journals, including Value in Health, PharmacoEconomics, JAMA, Annals of Internal Medicine, Diabetes Care, and Diabetologia.

Andrew sits on health economics advisory boards for several major pharmaceutical companies. Andrew has built and published dozens of health economics models build with TreeAge over 10 the past 10 years, and has been teaching the TreeAge Beginners and TreeAge Advanced courses for over 3 years.



Joshua A. Ray, BS, MSc
Health Economist, CORE- Center for Outcomes Research, a unit of IMS

Joshua Ray is a health economist at CORE, Center for Outcomes Research based in Basel, Switzerland.

He studied Economics and International Studies at the University North Carolina, Greensboro. In 2003 he moved to Basel, Switzerland and started as a trainee health economist at CORE while completing a MSc in Health Economics and Management at the University of Sheffield in the UK.

Joshua has conducted research and published in the area of health economics and the modeling of diseases including diabetes, nephropathy, growth hormone deficiency, obesity and cardiovascular disease.

Joshua has built and published multiple health economic models using TreeAge has been teaching the TreeAge 2-Day Standard Healthcare course for one year.




Alexander Diamantopoulos; BSC(HONS), MSC
Senior Economist, M-TAG, a unit of IMS Health UK

Alexander Diamantopoulos graduated from the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), Greece, with an honours degree in economics. He undertook a Masters in Health Economics and Health Policy at the Health Services Management Centre (HSMC) at the University of Birmingham (UK) and has also received training in epidemiology and biostatistics.

In the past he has worked as a research collaborator for the World Health Organisation. He is experienced in a variety of economic modelling techniques including Markov process, Monte Carlo simulation / micro-simulation and probabilistic sensitivity analysis. Since he joined M-TAG (a unit of IMS Health UK) as an Economist he has conducted many economic evaluation analyses across a variety of therapeutic areas, both for UK and international clients.

He has also obtained a high degree in classical music from the Athens Conservatory (2003).
