Leukemia Markov Model

The underlying decision analysis model used in the following demonstrations was initially developed for a published cost-effectiveness analysis of chronic myelogenous leukemia treatments (Kattan MW et al., "Cost-Effectiveness of Interferon-alpha and Conventional Chemotherapy in Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia," Ann Intern Med. 1996;125:541-8).

The decision tree models two strategies using Markov processes, simulating changes in health status and costs over time. To see the health states included in the DATA model, click on the graphic at left.

A number of the powerful analyses available in DATA Interactive are demonstrated here. Prior to each analysis, the user can modify baseline values for a number of probabilities, costs, and utilities. To continue, click on one of the analyses described in the table below.

SampleDescription
cost-effectiveness analysis graphical analysis of comparative cost-effectiveness ratios; text report on marginal values
health outcomes analysis text report of optimal treatment based on quality adjusted life expectancy
cost-effectiveness sensitivity analysis one-way sensitivity analysis under cost-effectiveness
